Poughkeepsie…As part of the continuing efforts to get public input and increase community dialogue, Dutchess County Executive Marcus J. Molinaro will host the County’s first live Telephone Town Hall meeting tomorrow evening at 6pm, following the release of the 2014 Tentative County Budget at 11am on Wednesday, October 30th. Residents will have the opportunity share their comments and ask questions about the 2014 county budget and other issues during this convenient, interactive dialogue with the County Executive.
When the Telephone Town Hall meeting begins, an automated system will dial residents’ homes. If you receive a call at your house, you can simply join the Telephone Town Hall by staying on the line. Participants can choose to listen to the meeting or you can ask questions. If you wish to ask a question, just follow the directions given.
If you do not receive a call, or would like to dial into the Telephone Town Hall meeting from your cell phone or other location, call the toll free number (877) 228-2184 and enter event ID # 18978 when prompted.
During the Telephone Town Hall Meeting, County Executive Molinaro will provide a brief overview of the 2014 Tentative County Budget and will then answer questions from residents. The meeting will last one hour. Residents are encouraged to listen to the Telephone Town Hall meeting for the full hour, but can exit the meeting at any time by hanging up their telephone.
Telephone Town Hall meetings increase public access to government by providing residents an opportunity to participate on the call and speak directly to the County Executive about county issues important to them from the comfort of their own home. Tomorrow’s Telephone Town Hall follows a series of several town hall forums hosted throughout the county over the last several weeks to discuss the 2014 county budget and other issues.
