Poughkeepsie…Veterans Day is Monday, November 11th. Dutchess County Executive Marcus J. Molinaro and Division of Veterans’ Services Director Nelson Eddy Rivera, USN (Ret) encourage Dutchess County residents to celebrate local veterans by participating in one or more of the numerous Veterans Day events planned across the county.
“Take the time to attend one of the many events being hosted throughout our community over the next several days to celebrate our local veterans and show our gratitude for their service and their sacrifice to protect the freedoms we hold dear,” said County Executive Molinaro.
Veterans Day is a national holiday intended to be a celebration to honor America's veterans for their patriotism, love of country, and willingness to serve and sacrifice for the common good.
“On Veterans Day, we rededicate ourselves to our veterans by supporting our Soldiers, Marines, Sailors, Airmen, and Coast Guardsmen as they return home from duty,” said Rivera. “We must keep our solemn promises to these brave men and women and their families. They have given their unwavering devotion in protecting our way of live, and we must keep our promise with them.”
