Poughkeepsie…The public is invited to an official grand opening of the Dutchess Rail Trail, celebrating the completion of the 13 mile linear county park on Saturday, November 16th at 2pm at Hopewell Depot Trailhead in East Fishkill. The event will recognize those whose work and efforts have made the Dutchess Rail Trail a reality, including special recognition for former Dutchess County Executive William R. Steinhaus.
Access to the Dutchess Rail Trail at the Hopewell Depot Trailhead will be limited on Saturday, November 16th prior and during the ceremony. Approximately 0.5 mile of the trail will be closed, from the Hopewell Depot Visitors Center to the at-grade Route 376 crossing, from 12pm to 3:30pm. Trail users should use alternate access points and parking areas, including the nearby Lake Walton Road and Van Wyck Lane parking areas.
