Poughkeepsie…The Dutchess County Division of Youth Services is requesting proposals from municipalities and non-profit community based organizations for New York State Office of Children and Family Services program funding for 2014. Program funding will be awarded in the following categories:
Grants will be awarded to programs that provide free direct service to Dutchess County residents, up to 21 years of age for calendar year 2014. Eligible agencies should be either municipalities or nonprofit community-based organizations with a federal identification number and charity registration. Agencies which are applying for this funding for the first time should call Youth Services Director June Ellen Notaro at 486-3662 to clarify the program meets the required guidelines.
The Dutchess County Youth Board’s funding priorities are based on the NYS OCFS Life Areas: Economic Security, Physical & Emotional Health, Education, Citizenship/Civic Engagement, Family, and Community.
The Division of Youth Services has scheduled a Grant Workshop for nonprofit agencies and municipalities on Friday November 22, 2013 at the Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department Community Room, 19 Tucker Drive, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The new funding stream Youth Development Programs will also be discussed. Grant application packets will be distributed at the workshop as well as a review on how to complete the paperwork. Grant documents will also be available online at www.dutchessny.gov on Monday, November 25th under DCFS - Youth Services. Agencies and municipalities should call Karla Friedle at 486-3024 to confirm attendance.
All grants are due to the Division of Youth Services on Friday, December 20, 2013 by 3:00 pm. Agencies should allow for adequate mail delivery time for grants to arrive before the due date or should plan to hand deliver the grant applications
Funding is made available through the New York State Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS). In 2013, 31 programs were awarded a total of $329,302 in funding. Dutchess County’s 2014 allocation of funding has not yet been announced by New York State.
