Dutchess County Airport Hosts Open House This Weekend

Poughkeepsie… Dutchess County Executive Marcus J. Molinaro has announced the Dutchess County Airport will be hosting an “Open House” event this Saturday, June 2nd from 10am to 4pm. The event is open to the public and is free of charge.

This is a fun event for the whole family with lots to see and do, providing an opportunity to learn more about the Dutchess County Airport. There will be educational seminars, information displays and demonstrations throughout the day. Some of the displays will include:

  • Vintage replicas from the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome
  • Coast Guard Falcon 10 Jet
  • Aircraft flown by local pilots
  • Helicopters from Dutchess County Airport tenant, AAG
  • Civil Air Patrol
  • Airport Fire Rescue Vehicle

Additionally, there will be Radio Control Aircraft displays and demonstrations. Helicopter rides available (for a fee) by United Aviation Academy. New Hackensack Fire District will be selling food throughout the day.

Educational seminars will be held in the airport terminal building throughout the afternoon and are open to everyone.   The seminar schedule is as follows:

The Dutchess County Airport contributes nearly $45 million annually to the local economy, providing more than 230 jobs and generating $13 million in annual payroll. Each year 73,000 aircrafts land or depart from the Dutchess County Airport.
