Molinaro meets with one of New York’s youngest mayors

Poughkeepsie…Dutchess County Executive Molinaro met today with Village of Middleburgh Mayor Matthew Avitabile, who is the youngest mayor in Middleburgh’s history and one of the youngest mayors in New York State.     Middleburgh is located in Schoharie County, New York. The two elected officials discussed the challenges of serving in elected office at a young age.   

County Executive Molinaro said, “When I was elected at the age of 19 to serve as the Mayor of Village of Tivoli, I was very fortunate to have many other elected officials reach out to me to offer advice and guidance.   I am happy to have the opportunity to pay it forward and reach out to other young public officials such Mayor Avitabile to discuss the common issues we all face as elected leaders.”   

Following the meeting, Mayor Avitabile took the opportunity to visit the Walkway Over the Hudson.
