Poughkeepsie… The Dutchess County Department of Public Works has announced the county bridge on Greentree Drive in the Town of Hyde Park, which spans over the Crum Elbow Creek, was reopened to traffic this morning. The new arch structure bridge is designed to prevent roadway flooding that had previously been an issue.

Work on the bridge began in May, with traffic detoured through a bypass road and over a temporary bridge that was installed for the construction project. The bridge construction project included the removal of the existing multiple pipe structure, replaced by a single continuous span bridge with a precast concrete arch. The bridge opening was approximately one week ahead of the original schedule.

Work will continue in the area as the temporary bridge and bypass road is removed. Motorists should be aware there may be occasional lane closures as the final work is completed.
