Poughkeepsie… Dutchess County Executive Marcus J. Molinaro has directed all Dutchess County Government facility flags to be lowered to half mast to honor Dutchess County Deputy Sheriff Lieutenant Thomas P. Lasher, who died on Tuesday, September 25, 2012.

“We are deeply saddened by the loss of our friend, co-worker and fellow public servant. Our prayers and condolences are with the Lasher family,” said County Executive Molinaro.

Tom Lasher served the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) for nearly 25 years, starting in 1987. He became a Lieutenant in 2004. Lt. Lasher also led the Arson Investigation Unit for the Sheriff’s Office, a job that suited him based on his 32 years worth of experience as a firefighter with the Dover Fire Department.

“The level of dedication and professionalism he brought to the Sheriff’s Office is unparalleled. His career and the many lives that he touched while working in the DCSO will never be forgotten,” said Dutchess County Sheriff Adrian “Butch” Anderson.

Flags will remain at half mast until Lt. Lasher’s interment.
