Poughkeepsie… The Dutchess County Commission on Human Rights continues the 2019 Listening Session series on Wednesday, June 5th from 5:30 pm to 7 pm at the Stanford Grange #808, in Stanfordville. The Dutchess County Commission on Human Rights has hosted several events in the Listening Session series. The listening sessions are opportunities for community members to meet with members of the Commission on Human Rights and discuss the issues that concern them most in their community.

Over the course of the year, the Commission plans multiple listening sessions across the county to hear directly from residents about their thoughts and concerns for human rights in our area. The Commission remains dedicated to continuing this work of reaching out and thoughtfully listening to their constituency and learning how and why issues raised by residents can vary among communities.

County Executive Molinaro encouraged residents to be part of the conversation, saying,  “I hope everyone will consider being part of these important conversations. Listening sessions are not just about opening our ears to what others have to say, it is about opening our minds and our hearts to what others are feeling. When we do that, we build connections and relationships that strengthen our communities.”

The Commission on Human Rights will also be continuing to host its monthly commission meetings in various locations across Dutchess County. The next monthly commission meeting will directly follow the listening session on June 5th, in the same location, 6043 Rte. 82, Stanfordville, NY 12581, between 7-8:30pm.

For reasonable accommodations, including sign language interpreters, please contact Jody Miller at or call 486-2165.  Seven days' notice is requested.
