POUGHKEEPSIE ... Dutchess County Executive Sue Serino is again partnering with New York State Senators Rob Rolison and Michelle Hinchey and the Dutchess County Office for the Aging to host the 2026 Golden Gathering, inviting older adults, their families and caregivers to the popular event on Saturday, Sept. 26, at Arlington High School, 1157 Route 55 in LaGrangeville. Doors will open promptly at 10 a.m., and the event runs through 1 p.m. Through the generosity of the James J. McCann Charitable Trust, the event is free and open to everyone, with no RSVP required.
Dutchess County Executive Sue Serino said, “Our older neighbors have given so much to Dutchess County and deserve every opportunity to stay connected, healthy and active. The Golden Gathering is one of my favorite events because it brings so many helpful resources together in one place and gives us a chance to come together, have some fun and make new friends. I look forward to welcoming everyone on September 26th for another wonderful day celebrating our older adults!”
The largest event of its kind in Dutchess County, the Golden Gathering brings together local organizations, community partners and government agencies to connect older adults with important services, resources and information. More than 85 exhibitors are slated to participate this year, offering information and assistance on a wide range of topics: from healthcare, financial planning and nutrition to legal assistance, senior safety, employment opportunities and much more.
Representatives from Dutchess County Government, as well as local and state agencies and community organizations, will also be available to answer questions and connect attendees with services.

Some 1,000 residents attended last year’s Golden Gathering, with almost 300 receiving complimentary vaccinations.

That’s what the Golden Gathering is all about — bringing providers together in one place and making it easier for seniors and their families to find the support they need to age safely, comfortably and independently. Michelle Hinchey said, “Our senior neighbors have spent decades contributing to their communities, and we're committed to making sure they have easy access to all the services and support that will help them live healthy, happy, and independent lives. Our Golden Gathering brings it all together in one impactful day — a true one-stop shop from health screenings to live entertainment to giveaways, and a free healthy breakfast. There's something for everyone, and we can't wait to welcome our neighbors for a great gathering this year!”
The Dutchess County Office for the Aging (OFA) helps older adults remain active, independent and connected to their community. The OFA offers nutrition, transportation, caregiver support programs and services, socialization opportunities, wellness initiatives and other resources that help older adults age successfully.
