Poughkeepsie… Dutchess County Executive Marcus J. Molinaro and Veterans Services Director Adam Roche invite residents to participate in Dutchess County’s Veterans Day ceremony at the Dutchess County War Memorial on Friday, November 11th, at 11 a.m. The Dutchess County War Memorial is located at John K. Rinaldi Memorial Park at the intersection of Raymond Avenue and Main Street in the Town of Poughkeepsie. The event is open to the public and all are encouraged to attend to honor local veterans.
County Executive Molinaro said, “The courageous men and women of our country’s military, both past and present, rightly deserve our gratitude and respect. The County’s annual Veterans Day event is a great chance for us to come together to honor veterans and give them warm thank you for all they have done. I ask residents to take time on Veterans Day to show our local heroes the extreme gratitude they deserve.”
Veterans Day is a national holiday which honors America's veterans for their willingness to serve and show appreciation for all their sacrifices. Local municipalities throughout the county will also be hosting Veterans Day ceremonies to honor and remember those who have served in United States Armed Forces. County Executive Molinaro and Director Roche encourage Dutchess County residents to celebrate local veterans by participating in one or more of the numerous Veterans Day events planned across the county.
