The Dutchess County Department of Public Works (DPW) has announced work on Culvert RH-13 on Turkey Hill Road (CR 56) in the Town of Red Hook is expected to begin the week of August 13th. The culvert, located over the Lakes Kill, will be replaced due to structural deficiencies.   Project work will involve the replacement of the existing culvert and the addition of 3-foot shoulders over the culvert.

Turkey Hill Road will be closed starting on or about August 13th with a detour route posted, and is expected reopen in mid-October. The entire project is anticipated to be complete by November 2018.  Turkey Hill Road averages approximately 1,130 vehicles per day.

Turkey Hill Road will be closed from just east of the Spring Lake Road (CR 55) intersection to west of the New York State Red Hook Residential Center. The planned detour will direct traffic along Spring Lake Road and Odak Farm Road around the road closure. View a map of the closure and detour online.

Motorists are advised to plan for additional time and to exercise extra caution on the detour route, obey the posted speed limits, traffic advisory signs, and the directions from flaggers in the work zone to ensure the safety of workers and other motorists.
