Poughkeepsie, NY… The Dutchess County Department of Emergency Response has scheduled its next Citizens Preparedness Training. The free session will be held in partnership with the Town of Pleasant Valley on Wednesday, November 30th at 7pm at the Pleasant Valley Town Hall, located at 1554 Main Street in Pleasant Valley. During the training, participants will learn resources and skills necessary to better prepare for any type of disaster. No registration required; walk-ins are welcome. View the event flyer.
Department of Emergency Response Commissioner Dana Smith said, “Emergency situations are inherently stressful, but having a plan and supplies ready can make a lot of difference to you and your family’s response. We encourage everyone to attend one of our free Citizens Preparedness trainings and learn how to keep you and your family safe when an emergency or disaster strikes.”
Participants will learn how to respond accordingly in a disaster and recover as quickly as possible to pre-disaster conditions. Each family will receive a free Citizens Preparedness Response Starter Kit. Dutchess County’s Medical Reserve Corps and the Dutchess County Animal Response Team will be present with more information on how to become involved.
Additional trainings will be scheduled at various locations throughout the County in the coming months. For information, visit www.dutchessny.gov.
