The Dutchess County Department of Emergency Response will host the first two free Citizen’s Preparedness Training Program sessions of 2019 this month. The events are open to the public, but registration in advance is required as space is limited.

The sessions are as follows:

  • Tuesday, January 29th at 7pm - Red Hook Village Hall, 7467 South Broadway, Red Hook. Call (845) 758-3241 to register. View the flier (.pdf).
  • Thursday, January 31st at 6:30pm - Beekman Library, 11 Town Center Blvd., Hopewell Junction. Call (845) 724-3414 to register. View the flier (.pdf).

The training sessions are designed to provide participants with the tools and resources to better prepare for any type of disaster. At each training, participants will learn how to respond accordingly in a disaster and recover as quickly as possible to pre-disaster conditions. The training program is being provided by the Dutchess County Departments of Emergency Response in partnership with the local municipalities and libraries.

Each family will receive a free Citizen Preparedness Corp Response Starter Kit. Dutchess County’s Medical Reserve Corps and the Dutchess County Animal Response Team will be present with more information on how to become involved. For information, visit
