Poughkeepsie, NY … Furthering its efforts at “Breaking Through” the stigma surrounding mental health issues, the Dutchess County Department of Behavioral and Community Health (DBCH) will host a pair of virtual forums in May to discuss mental health services offered in the County for children and adults.

Families, caregivers and local stakeholders are encouraged to attend, as all input received at the forums will help shape the County’s 2022 Local Services Plans for these two respective constituencies. The forums will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on the following dates:

Mental Health Services for Children & Youth
Monday, May 3rd

Mental Health Services for Adults
Tuesday, May 18th

These forums are being held virtually, and residents can log on to, select the forum they’d like to attend, and DBCH will send them a link and a call-in number to the forum upon completing registration.

County Executive Marc Molinaro said, “Dutchess County remains a statewide leader in ‘Breaking Through’ the perception about mental health, which often keeps those who are suffering from seeking help. Our county’s continued dialogues offer the community the opportunity to help DBCH refine its services, many of which stand as models for municipalities throughout the state and nation. We’re proud to host these productive discussions, which bring about constructive solutions that can save lives, and I urge all those interested in providing feedback to attend virtually.”

Each discussion will include an update since the 2019 forums, guest speakers, information on resources available to local families and how they can access them, and a question-and-answer period for those attending.

For those unable to attend, DBCH welcomes written comments to be read aloud by the forum moderator. Individuals may submit comments online, fax comments to (845) 486-2829, or mail to: DBCH Forum Comments, 230 North Rd, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601.
