Poughkeepsie…The Dutchess County Department of Public Works (DPW) has announced work will begin on or about July 13th to replace a culvert on Round Lake Road (CR-52) in the Town of Milan. The roadway will be closed in the vicinity of construction, approximately one-third mile west of the intersection with Milan Hollow Road (CR-15). Access to nearby driveways will be maintained and a detour will be posted directing travelers along State Routes 308 and 199 and Milan Hollow Road.
Project work will include the removal and replacement of the culvert, installing new inlet and outlet headwalls, widening the road to include the addition of 3-foot shoulders, and installing new guiderail to increase safety for pedestrians and motorists. Construction is anticipated to be complete with the road re-opened to traffic, by the end of 2026.
Motorists are advised to plan for additional time and to exercise extra caution near the construction site and on the detour, obey the posted speed limits, and traffic advisory signs and the directions from flaggers near the work zone to ensure the safety of workers and other motorists.
