Culvert Replacement and Safety Improvements Completed on North Quaker Lane
Road Reopened to Traffic

Published: 9/3/2021

Poughkeepsie … The Dutchess County Department of Public Works (DPW) has announced North Quaker Lane has been reopened to traffic as work to replace a drainage culvert and make safety improvements has been completed.  The project was completed on schedule and on budget.

Project work began in early summer and included replacement of a large, deteriorating culvert with a new concrete box culvert, as well as realignment and repaving of approximately 600 feet of roadway between Forest Drive and Fallkill Road.   The realignment reduced the severity and sharpness of the horizontal curve and included wider shoulders to improve road safety for the approximately 3,308 motorists who travel the road daily.
