Poughkeepsie… With several thousand attendees anticipated to participate in the funeral services for the late Dutchess County Sheriff Adrian “Butch” Anderson this week, at the request of and in coordination with the City of Poughkeepsie Police, Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office and the Department of Emergency Response, County Executive Marc Molinaro will issue an Executive Order to close County offices within the City of Poughkeepsie from 1pm on Tuesday, October 5th through 5pm on Wednesday, October 6th to accommodate road closures, traffic patterns and parking limitations.
County offices at the following facilities within the City of Poughkeepsie will be closed with extremely limited or no parking access:
Several roadways will also be closed or have extremely limited access for non-event traffic on Tuesday and Wednesday. Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes in and around the City of Poughkeepsie and should note that road closures and traffic patterns may change throughout the event timeframe as needs change. Dutchess County Public Transit: Riders should expect delays on all routes on Tuesday and Wednesday, except Routes F and G. All buses will load inside the Poughkeepsie Transit Hub. Routes A, B and K northbound will travel from Market Street to the eastbound Arterial, turn left onto Academy Street and use Main Street to access the Hub. Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV): The Poughkeepsie DMV will be impacted by this closure. For those with an appointment in Poughkeepsie on Tuesday, October 5th between 12:30pm and 4:45pm, appointments will be honored at the Wappinger DMV at the same time. For those with an appointment in Poughkeepsie on Wednesday, October 6 between 9am and 4:45pm, appointments are rescheduled for Thursday, October 7 at the same time and location.
