Dutchess County Parks to Host Day of Family Fun at Bowdoin
Free Live Country Music, Line Dancing, Fireworks and More in Partnership with Townsquare Media Group

Poughkeepsie … Dutchess County Parks, in partnership with The Wolf (WCZX, 97.7FM), the Wakin' Up with CJ and Jess Show and Townsquare Media Group, will host a free, family-friendly country music and line dancing event, “Boots by the Bandshell,” on Saturday, October 2nd at the bandshell at Bowdoin Park, located at 85 Sheafe Road in the Town of Poughkeepsie. Line dancing will be provided by CJ McIntyre followed by popular Hudson Valley Country band, Thunder Ridge Band.

County Executive Marc Molinaro said, “Dutchess County Parks continues to offer family-friendly events that give everyone an opportunity to come together for a fun-filled afternoon outdoors. We encourage residents to pack a picnic, dust off your cowboy hat and put on some foot-stomping boots for this fun, fall afternoon at Bowdoin!”

Boots by the Bandshell will be held near the bandshell pavilion at the park, and guests can arrive beginning at 2:30 p.m. The event will also include activities such as a Fall Scavenger Hunt, a bonfire with s’mores, and a family game area. A fireworks display will follow the musical performances at 7:45 p.m.

This is a carry-in, carry-out event. Picnics, camp chairs, and coolers are allowed, but glass containers, smoking or vaping products, and alcohol are prohibited on park property.

Parks Director Sandy Washburn said, “October is the perfect time of year to visit Bowdoin! The majestic Hudson River view and the scenic fall colors are spectacular. We look forward to hosting a day of family fun, line dancing, fireworks and great country music at the park.”
