POUGHKEEPSIE … Dutchess County Executive Sue Serino invites residents of all abilities, their families and support organizations to a free, inclusive morning of movie fun with a sensory-sensitive screening of Disney’s “Zootopia 2” on Saturday, Dec. 6 at the Roosevelt Cinemas, 4060 Albany Post Road in Hyde Park. Doors open at 9 a.m., and the movie begins at 10 a.m. Registration for this event is required and can be completed online at: dutchessny.gov/movie.

Dutchess County Executive Sue Serino said, “We’re excited to host this free sensory-friendly screening of ‘Zootopia 2’ in Hyde Park to ensure everyone of every ability feels welcome and at ease. This is more than just a day at the movies. It’s a celebration of community where our neighbors can enjoy a fun, judgment-free experience together.”

To make this no-shush screening more comfortable for all in attendance, the theater will have lights left up slightly, volume turned down and closed captioning will be available upon request. Though outside food and drinks are not permitted, concessions inside the theater will be available for purchase.

This event is part of the county’s ThinkDIFFERENTLY initiative, aimed at creating a welcoming and inclusive community for people of all abilities.
