Poughkeepsie…The Dutchess County Department of Public Works (DPW) has announced projects on Round Lake Road (CR-52) in Milan, Verbank Road in the Town of Washington, and Cold Spring Road (CR-53) in the Town of Stanford have been successfully completed, on time and under budget. The three roadways are all open to normal traffic.
The Round Lake Road (CR-52) project, which began in the spring, included the removal and replacement of a culvert with new inlet and outlet headwalls and widening the road to include the addition of 3-foot shoulders. Round Lake Road (CR-52) averages approximately 380 vehicles per day.
The Verbank Road project, which also began in the spring, included replacing a bridge near the intersection with South Road, with a new, wider bridge with 3-foot shoulders. Verbank Road averages approximately 390 vehicles per day.
The Cold Spring Road (CR-53) project included replacing the bridge over the Wappinger Creek, near the intersection with State Route 82, with a new, wider bridge with 4-foot shoulders. Cold Spring Road (CR-53) averages approximately 780 vehicles per day.
Two additional projects, a culvert in Pawling and a sidewalk improvement in Millerton, are expected to be completed by the end of the year.
