Weekend Archery Classes Return to Bowdoin Park this Spring

Poughkeepsie… Registration for the next round of Dutchess County Parks’ popular weekend archery classes at Bowdoin Park in Poughkeepsie will open March 12th at 9am. Sessions begin on March 22nd and will take place at Bowdoin Park’s archery range, located near Pavilion 4. The program consists of five classes, held on Saturdays, with various time slots to accommodate more students. The sessions, each an hour long, are designed for children ages 8 and up, and adults with any level of archery experience. Space is limited, so be sure to register early at www.DutchessNY.gov/ParksEducation.

The first session will cover basic archery safety and skills for new participants. Most of the sessions will be spent practicing with the bows, allowing participants to learn through experience. All equipment is provided. The total cost for the program is $70 per person and includes all five classes and equipment. View the event flyer.

Time Slots

  • 8:30-9:30am
  • 10-11 a.m.
  • 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
  • 2-3 p.m.
  • 3:30-4:30 p.m.

Other naturalist programming, including group weekday Archery, Junior Survival, Scout Programs and School Field Trips are available by appointment and reservations can be made by calling the Parks office at (845) 298-4602.
