DUTCHESS COUNTY LEGISLATURE SEEKS COMMUNITY-MINDED INDIVIDUALS TO SERVE ON
PUBLIC BOARDS, AUTHORITIES
Chairman Rolison, County Legislators look for fresh perspectives, new ideas

Chairman Robert Rolison (R-District 8) announced today the Dutchess County Legislature is actively seeking individuals to serve as legislative appointments to various public boards.

“As Chairman of this legislative body, I want to create a more open process that encourages greater public participation in county government. That’s why the Dutchess County Legislature will now offer the opportunity for any county resident who has the time and the desire to serve on a public board to be considered for those appointed positions. It is an ideal way for citizens to get involved in their community, bring fresh perspectives as well as new ideas to the table, in an effort to help their lawmakers and their neighbors build a better Dutchess County,” said Rolison

The Legislature in March and April will make appointments to the following boards:

Advisory Mental Hygiene Board
Agricultural & Farmland Protection Board
Airport Advisory Committee
Board of Health
Citizens’ Advisory Committee on Domestic Violence
Citizens’ Advisory Committee on Sex Offender Management
Dutchess County Criminal Justice Council
Dutchess County Environmental Management Council
Dutchess County Fire & Safety Advisory Board
Dutchess County Resource Recovery Agency
Fish & Wildlife Management Board
Forest Practice, Region 3 Board
Hudson Valley Regional Council
Human Rights Commission
Soil & Water Conservation
Veterans Affairs Committee

Chairman Rolison reminds interested individuals that positions are highly competitive and may require unique knowledge of a particular subject area. Still, anyone who wishes to be considered should provide a resume and a brief letter of interest to the Dutchess County Legislature no later than Monday, March 1. Appointment material can be sent to the attention of Michael Ellison at 22 Market Street, 6th Floor Poughkeepsie NY 12601, faxed to 486-2113, or e-mailed to mellison@co.dutchess.ny.us. Questions and concerns can be directed to the Dutchess County Legislature at 486-2100.
