MRC Offers Orientation for Prospective New Members on June 13th

Poughkeepsie ... The Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) of Dutchess County will offer orientation sessions for new members on Thursday, June 13th at both 2 p.m. and 6 p.m., at the Dutchess County Department of Emergency Response, 392 Creek Road, Poughkeepsie. The presentation is free, but registration prior to the event is required.


“The Medical Reserve Corps offers many training opportunities for volunteers who want to help make Dutchess County as healthy, prepared and resilient as possible,” said A. K. Vaidian, MD, MPH, Commissioner of the Dutchess County Department of Behavioral & Community Health (DBCH). “Although welcome, no previous medical experience is needed to join the MRC and help support DBCH as well as the County’s Department of Emergency Response.”


The MRC of Dutchess County is part of a national network of almost 200,000 volunteers dedicated to supporting public health infrastructure as well as disaster preparedness and response in their communities.
