Our Empowerment Center is an accessible center where adults at any stage of their substance use or mental health recovery can get support from Recovery Coaches and their peers.

The Center is intentionally non-clinical and non-traditional, allowing rapid, person-centered responsiveness, without barriers like paperwork or insurance requirements.

We offer an empathic and knowledgeable approach to helping those who need it. 

At the Empowerment Center, everyone belongs.
 

The Empowerment Center is located at Department of Behavioral & Community Health's Campus at 230 North Road in Poughkeepsie (Use Entrance 1) (Directions).
 

Operational hours are Monday- Friday, 9:00AM - 4:00PM.

  • 9:00AM - 1:30PM: One on one appointments with recovery coaches, group meetings and community activities.
     
  • 1:30PM - 4:00PM: Walk ins welcome during this time, no appointment needed. If you need help outside drop-in hours, a coach is available by calling 845-486-2893 to meet and help you obtain care if necessary. Walk-in hours are currently available Monday, Wednesday and Friday only.

Our Mission

The mission of the Empowerment Center is to provide compassionate, respectful, and effective support, resources, services, and education to people living in any stage of self-defined recovery as well as their family and friends.
