The Dutchess County Mobile Health Unit is state-of-the art 40 ft vehicle that provides accessible mobile health services to improve the health and safety of our residents. Each month, the MHU travels throughout the county to bring a wide range of public and behavioral health services on the road. This helps us tackle health disparities, prevent disease, and enhance the health and wellness of all in our community.

Mobile Health Services

The DOH MHU offers a wide range of services. After submitting application, DOH staff will discuss what we can provide at your event based on availability. 

Potential services include:

Public Health Education

Community outreach, education and training help communities function better and bring awareness to critical topics.

  • Narcan training 

  • CPR & AED training

  • Chronic disease prevention

  • Healthy eating

Limited clinical services are available on-the-go to help individuals who may lack access to brick-and-mortar health services. 

  • Seasonal immunizations for children and adults 

  • State mandated school vaccines for students
    (call clinic at 845-486-2963 to request)

  • Sexually transmitted infections (STI) screening and testing

  • Blood pressure screenings

Mental Health & Substance Abuse Services

Mental health services reduce the risk of chronic diseases related to stress, anxiety, and substance abuse as well as help those struggling with existing mental health issues.

  • One-on-one help from recovery coaches 

  • Referrals to local community organizations

Nearly 39 feet long, the state-of-the-art  vehicle is handicapped accessible and equipped with features such as:

  • Exam room
  • Intake area
  • One-on-one meeting space
  • Medical refrigerator
  • Wheelchair lift

The exterior of the vehicle is equipped with a video monitor and awning for outreach and training opportunities.
