Can I prevent the flu?

The best way to prevent the flu is by getting a flu vaccination each year.

Who should get flu vaccination?

Seasonal flu vaccine is recommended for everyone six months and older, especially those individuals who are:

  • Pregnant
  • Children 6 months to 18 years of age
  • Adults 50 years of age or older
  • Individuals with health conditions that put them at risk of complications from influenza
  • Healthcare Workers
    Per the CDC, it is safe to get flu and COVID-19 vaccine at the same time.

Flu vaccine is available locally at:

  • Your doctor's office
  • Pharmacies 
  • Retail stores
  • At our vaccine clinics, flu appointments available for children & adults, by appointment only at 845-486-3535.

Can I get a flu shot if I’m allergic to eggs?

Flu vaccines are available that do not contain egg proteins and they have been approved for use in adults 18 and over.

If you've had a reaction to eggs in the past, always talk to your doctor before getting a flu vaccination.
