The Dutchess County District Attorney’s Office Drug Task Force reports the arrest of Jermaine Thomas, age 49, in the City of Poughkeepsie related to narcotic and dangerous drug sales in the Poughkeepsie area.
The investigation began after the Drug Task Force identified an alleged narcotic and dangerous drug dealer operating on the North Side of the City of Poughkeepsie. Drug Task Force Agents made multiple purchases of crack cocaine from Jermaine Thomas at various locations on the North side of the City of Poughkeepsie.
On 03/25/26 Drug Task Force Agents located the defendant at the College Hill Park in the City of Poughkeepsie where he was taken into custody without incident. At the time of his arrest the defendant had multiple bags of crack cocaine packaged for sale, additional drug packaging, scales and U.S. currency. Drug Task Force Agents with the assistance of the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office and the City of Poughkeepsie Police Department executed a search warrant at the defendant’s residence on Winnikee Ave. Additional evidence related to the sale of narcotics was recovered.
Jermaine Thomas was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree, a class B Felony and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 4th degree, a class C felony. *Several additional charges are pending against the defendant related to this investigation.
The defendant was later arraigned in the City of Poughkeepsie Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Justice and Transition Center, formerly known as the Dutchess County Jail, as required by law.
