The Dutchess County District Attorney’s Office Drug Task Force reports the arrest of Phillip H. Farrar, age 67, related to alleged narcotic sales in the Poughkeepsie area.
Drug Task Force Agents identified Phillip H. Farrar as narcotic and dangerous drug dealer operating out of an apartment located at 20 North Perry Street in the City of Poughkeepsie. This investigation was the result of receiving complaints from concerned members of the community who requested assistance from Drug Task Force. Agents began purchasing narcotics from the defendant on numerous occasions leading to a search warrant being issued for a search of Farrar and his residence.
On 09/09/26/ Drug Task Force Agents with the assistance of the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Bureau apprehended the defendant outside his residence on North Perry Street without incident. Agents and K9 Ziky then executed the search warrant resulting in the seizure of a large quantity of cocaine packaged for sale, packaging, scales, U.S. currency and other related evidence. The defendant was charged with the following:
The defendant was later arraigned in the City of Poughkeepsie court and remanded to the Dutchess County Justice and Transition Center, formerly known as the Dutchess County Jail with no bail, as required by NYS law. Numerous other charges are pending against the defendant related to the sale of narcotics.
Drug Task Force Agents continue to work areas throughout Dutchess County that have been identified as hot spots for violent crime and narcotic sales as well as responding to calls from assistance from community members.
District Attorney Anthony Parisi said, “Illegal narcotics trafficking fuels addiction, violence, and instability in our neighborhoods, and we will continue to attack it aggressively. This investigation began because members of the community spoke up, and our District Attorney’s Office Drug Task Force responded with a focused, intelligence-driven investigation that led to the seizure of a significant quantity of cocaine allegedly packaged for sale. I commend our Drug Task Force agents, the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office, and K9 Ziky for their coordinated work. We will continue targeting those who profit from the sale of dangerous drugs, particularly in areas experiencing violence and persistent narcotics activity, and we will pursue these cases with the seriousness they demand.”
As with any criminal case, the charges described above are merely accusations, and those named are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
