The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of Joseph M. Reynolds, age 58 of Beekman, in connection with a violent dispute that occurred inside of a residence at approximately 8:30 am on 3/12/25.

On the above date and time Deputies responded to a residence on Brothers Rd in the Town of Beekman for a report of a dispute in which one party was reportedly armed with a pistol. Shortly after arrival Mr. Reynolds was located and taken into custody, and the weapon secured. At this time Mr. Reynolds is accused of engaging in a violent dispute during which he allegedly fired the pistol, pointed it at the victim, and then assaulted the victim. The victim was able to escape the residence with non-life threatening injuries, and the rounds (2) that were fired from the pistol struck a window.

Mr. Reynolds has been charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd degree, Criminal Mischief 3rd degree, Assault 2nd degree, Criminal Use of a Firearm, and Menacing 2nd degree (all charges are felonies except the menacing). After being processed he was arraigned before the Town of Beekman Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Justice and Transition Center in lieu of $100,000 cash bail or $250,000 bond.

The Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the New York State Police. As with any criminal case the charges described above are merely accusations and Mr. Reynolds is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
