The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office reports responding to assist the Town of Beekman Fire Department at the scene of a large fire in the Town of Beekman at approximately 12:45 pm on 8/22/22.
On the above date and time Sheriff’s Deputies responded to Barton Orchards, 63 Apple Tree Lane, for a report of a propane truck on fire. The fire was eventually brought under control by the Beekman Fire Department with the assistance of numerous other local fire departments, and at this time it appears that numerous buildings and vehicles in the area have been damaged.
At the time of this writing there are no reported injuries and Beekman-Poughquag Road between Recreation Road and Beekman Road remains closed. Also assisting in the investigation are the Dutchess County Department of Emergency Response, Dutchess County Fire Investigation Division, and New York State Police. At this time the scene is still active and the investigation is continuing.
