The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of William J. Mair, age 21 of Copake NY, in connection with a recent investigation into sexual activity involving a minor.
The above investigation was conducted by Sheriff’s Office Detectives and resulted in the arrest of Mr. Mair on 12/20/24, and at this time he is accused of having sexual contact with a person under the age of 17. In order to protect the victim’s privacy any further details about them and the case are being withheld, and at this time there appears to be no danger to the public.
Mr. Mair has been charged with Rape in the 3rd degree (felony), and after being processed he was arraigned before the Town of Amenia Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Justice and Transition Center in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond.
