The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office reports the investigation into a three-car crash involving an on-duty Dutchess County Deputy Sheriff, which occurred at approximately 7:30 pm on 3/14/25 at the intersection of Crum Elbow Rd and State Route 9G in the Town of Hyde Park. As a result a total of five (5) people, including the Deputy, were transported to local hospitals with non-life threatening injuries and Crum Elbow Rd was closed for approximately 3 hours. At this time no charges have been filed, and the investigation is continuing by the Sheriff's Office’s Detective Bureau and Crash Investigation Unit.
The Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Town of Hyde Park Police, the Town of Poughkeepsie Police, the Town of Hyde Park Fire Department, and Northern Dutchess Paramedics. Investigation to continue, and more information may be released at a later time as it becomes available.
