The Dutchess County District Attorney’s Office Drug Task Force continues to investigate the sale of narcotics and dangerous drugs in Dutchess County.
Drug Task Force Agents identified Tyshawn R. Smith, age 28, selling fentanyl and cocaine out of a residence on Cannon Street. Drug Task Force Agents made several purchases of fentanyl and cocaine over the course of the investigation leading to a search warrant being obtained for the residence.
On 01/28/2025 Drug Task Force Agents located Smith on Market Street in the City of Poughkeepsie and took him into custody without incident. Following his arrest, Drug Task Force Agents executed a search warrant at his residence on Cannon Street.
Smith was charged with the following:
(1) Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree, a class B Felony
Lewis was later arraigned in City of Poughkeepsie Court and remanded to DCJ on 100k cash, 200k secured bond or 300k partially secured bond. Several additional charges are pending in this case against Smith related to this investigation.
The Drug Task Force was assisted by Dutchess County Probation Officers during this investigation.
As with any criminal case, the charges described above are merely an accusation and those individuals named in this release are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
