Drug Task Force Raid in the Town of Poughkeepsie Nets 5 Arrests

The Dutchess County District Attorney’s Office Drug Task Force opened an investigation into narcotic and dangerous drug sales in the area of 7 Jones Street in the Town of Poughkeepsie after receiving numerous complaints of drug activity in that area.  In addition, overdoses were occurring in that area which accelerated the response from the Drug Task Force.

During the course of this investigation, Drug Task Force Agents began purchasing fentanyl and cocaine at that location.  On March 3rd Drug Task Force Agents apprehended Joseph Napolitano, age 35 for selling fentanyl and cocaine to Drug Task Force Agents on multiple occasions near 7 Jones Street in the Town of Poughkeepsie.   Upon taking Mr. Napolitano into custody, Drug Task Force Agents and the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Services Unit (SWAT) with the assistance of the Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department executed a search warrant at 7 Jones Street resulting in a total of 5 arrests . 
 

The following suspects were arrested:

Joseph Napolitano, age 35

1. Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree with intent to sell, a class B Felony.
2. Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree, a class B Felony. 
   Napolitano was later arraigned in the Town of Poughkeepsie Court and released and ordered to report to probation pursuant to current NYS Law.

Atrayu Felix, age 29 - Wanted by the NYSP for narcotics related offenses.  He was later turned over to the NYSP.

Shane Turner, age 31 - Wanted by the NYSP for narcotics related offenses.  He was later turned over to the NYSP.

Jasmine English, age 19 - Wanted by the NYSP for narcotics related offenses.  She was later turned over to the NYSP.

Robert Cann, age 30 - Wanted by NYS Parole.  He was later transported to the Dutchess County Jail pursuant to the warrant.

The Drug Task Force will aggressively focus on locations where communities and neighborhoods are victimized by narcotic and dangerous drug dealers who prey on vulnerable community members.  The Drug Task Force was assisted by the Town of Poughkeepsie Police with this investigation.

As with any criminal case, the charges described above are merely an accusation and those individuals named in this release are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
