Drug Task Force Raids City Apartment Building Shutting Down a Fentanyl Distribution Operation

The Dutchess County District Attorney’s Office Drug Task Force received numerous complaints about an apartment located in a building off South Clinton Street. An apartment in the building was reportedly being used to distribute fentanyl and other dangerous drugs to vulnerable community members. Residents in the area also reported being threatened by individuals in this apartment and they feared for their safety. The DA Drug Task Force initiated an investigation resulting in the apartment being identified as well as multiple subjects selling fentanyl. This investigation led to a search warrant being issued to the Drug Task Force by the City of Poughkeepsie Justice Court.

In the evening of 03/07/24 The Drug Task Force with the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Services Unit executed a warrant at the apartment resulting in the arrest of multiple subjects and the removal of more than 15 people from this location. The following subjects were arrested by the Drug Task Force:

Parrish Beverly, age 45, was arrested for Criminal Sale of Controlled Substance 3rd – Fentanyl, a class B Felony, with multiple charges pending. Mr. Beverly is currently awaiting his arraignment which will be held in the afternoon of 03/08/24

Courtney Burke, age 23, was arrested on a warrant for her arrest by New York State Parole related to a Robbery in the 1st degree in Albany County. Ms. Burke was turned over to the New York State Parole shortly after her arrest.

Latham Brent, age 42, was arrested on a warrant for Burglary 2nd degree by the City of Poughkeepsie Police Department. Mr. Brent was turned over to the City of Poughkeepsie Police Department shortly after his arrest.

Bryan Rankin, age 27, was arrested on a warrant for larceny by the Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department. Mr. Rankin was turned over to the Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department shortly after his arrest.

The Drug Task Force was assisted by the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Bureau, K-9 Unit and Unmanned Aircraft Unit, the City of Poughkeepsie Police Department, the City of Poughkeepsie Police Neighborhood Recovery Unit and K-9 Unit and the Town of Hyde Park Police Department.

Additional charges are pending in this case.
