The Dutchess County District Attorney’s Office Drug Task Force reports the arrest of Tommy Houston, age 48, related to narcotic sales in the Poughkeepsie area.
Drug Task Force Agents working hot spot areas for violent crime and narcotics activity in the Poughkeepsie area identified Tommy Houston, a narcotic and dangerous drug dealer, selling narcotics. Drug Task Force Agents began purchasing narcotics from Houston on numerous occasions.
On 08/26/2026 Drug Task Force Agents apprehended Tommy Houston on Pershing Ave without incident and later was found to be in possession of numerous bags of crack cocaine packaged for sale. The defendant was charged with the following:
(1) Count of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance 2nd Degree, a class A-II Felony
(1) Count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree, a Class B Felony
(1) Count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 4th Degree, a class C Felony
The defendant was later arraigned in the City of Poughkeepsie court and remanded to the Dutchess County Justice and Transition Center, formerly known as the Dutchess County Jail with no bail, as required by NYS law. Numerous other charges are pending against the defendant related to the sale of narcotics.
Drug Task Force Agents continue to work areas throughout Dutchess County that have been identified as hot spots for violent crime and narcotic sales through the use of intelligence based narcotic enforcement practices that have proven to be a catastrophic blow to the criminal networks operating in Dutchess County.
District Attorney Anthony Parisi said, “Today’s arrest is another example of the aggressive, intelligence-driven approach our Drug Task Force is taking to combat narcotics trafficking and the violence that so often accompanies it. We are not simply waiting for drug activity to come to our attention, we are identifying the individuals and criminal networks responsible for driving narcotics sales in our communities, building strong cases against them, and taking decisive enforcement action. Those who choose to profit from selling dangerous drugs in Dutchess County should understand that our Drug Task Force is actively looking for you, and we will continue working relentlessly to identify, investigate, and prosecute those who threaten the safety of our neighborhoods.”
As with any criminal case, the charges described above are merely accusations, and those named are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
