Fishkill shooting under investigation

The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that occurred on Pappas Lane in the Town of Fishkill at approximately 8:30 pm on 8/23/25. The shooting involves one (1) male victim who was treated for non-life-threatening injuries at St. Luke’s Hospital in Newburgh before later being transferred to Westchester Medical Center. At this time, the shooting is not believed to be a random act and there appears to be no danger to the general public. 

The investigation is continuing by the Sheriff’s Office’s Detective Bureau, and anyone with information is urged to contact Detective Myers at 845-486-2049 or cmyers@dutchessny.gov. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the New York State Police, and more information may be released as it becomes available.
