The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office reports the investigation into a shooting which occurred in the Town of Hyde Park at approximately 12:55 am on 9/2/21.
On the above date and time Deputies responded to a residence on Rockledge Rd in Hyde Park for a report of a shooting. Upon arrival one victim was observed to have suffered significant head and facial injuries due to a gunshot, and they were transported to Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital before eventually being transferred to Westchester Medical Center. The identity of the victim will not be released at this time.
Preliminary investigation has revealed that the victim was shot once by an unknown suspect(s) who fled the scene before police arrival. This incident is not thought to be random and there doesn’t appear to be any threat to public safety at this time.
The investigation is continuing and anyone with information or security camera footage between approximately 12:30 am – 1:00 am on 9/2/21 in the Rockledge Rd or Greenfields Development areas of Hyde Park is urged to contact the Sheriff’s Office Detective Bureau at 845-486-3820.
