The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of Joseph R. Gourd, age 43 of Poughkeepsie, NY, in connection with an investigation at the Dutchess County Justice and Transition Center. Mr. Gourd was incarcerated at the time of the incident and remains there at the time of this writing.
Mr. Gourd is accused of assaulting another incarcerated individual in the facility causing injury to that person. He was arrested on 7/22/24 and has been charged with Assault 2nd (Felony). Mr. Gourd is scheduled to appear before the City of Poughkeepsie Court for arraignment on 8/26/24.
As with any criminal case the charges described above are merely accusations, and Mr. Gourd is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
