Incarcerated individual charged in two separate incidents

The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of William Green Jr., age 30 of Poughkeepsie, in connection with two separate incidents at the Dutchess County Justice and Transition Center. Mr. Green was incarcerated at the time of the incidents and arrest, and remains there at the time of this writing.

Mr. Green is accused of (A) violating an order of protection on 5/23/24 by contacting a protected party, and (B) physically striking another incarcerated individual during an unrelated incident on 5/27/24. He was arrested on 5/31/24 and has been charged with aggravated family offense (felony), attempted assault 2^nd degree (felony), and criminal contempt 2^nd degree (misd). At this time Mr. Green is due to appear before the City of Poughkeepsie Court for arraignment on 6/18/24 at 9 am.

As with any criminal case the charges described above are merely accusations, and Mr. Green is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
