The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of Julio Pineda, age 46 of West New York New Jersey, at approximately 1 am on 2/5/26 in the Town of Dover.
During the early hours of 2/5/26 the Sheriff’s Office was alerted to a pursuit that involved police from Westchester and Putnam counties, which was discontinued in the southern Dutchess County (Pawling) area. The Sheriff’s Office was given a description of the involved vehicle, and just before 1 am a Deputy located the vehicle stuck in snowbank on Route 22 in the Town of Dover. At that time Mr. Pineda was identified as the operator, and further investigation led to the discovery of a suspected controlled substance in the vehicle and that the car had been reported as stolen from New Jersey. Mr. Pineda was then taken into custody by Deputies at the scene.
At this time Mr. Pineda has been charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd and 4th degrees (felonies), as well as Criminal Possession of Stolen Property. After being processed he was released on appearance tickets to re-appear before the Town of Dover Court at a later time.
As with any criminal case the charges described above are merely accusations and Mr. Pineda is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
