Pawling Man Charged with Public Lewdness

Daniel J. DornThe Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of Daniel J. Dorn, age 75 of Pawling, in connection with a recent investigation into reports of public lewdness in the Village of Pawling. 

On 8/25/25 the Sheriff’s Office was alerted by the Village of Pawling Mayor’s Office to reports of someone possibly exposing themselves to women and young girls. An investigation was then conducted by the Sheriff’s Office’s Detective and Patrol Bureaus, which resulted in Mr. Dorn being taken into custody on 8/28/25. At this time he is accused of intentionally exposing the private parts of his body in a public area of the Village of Pawling. 

Mr. Dorn has been charged with Public Lewdness, which is a misdemeanor, and after being processed he was released with an appearance ticket returnable to the Village of Pawling Court on 9/9/25 at 5:30 pm.

As with any criminal case the charge described above is merely an accusation and Mr. Dorn is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
