The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office reports the investigation into a fatal car-motorcycle crash, which occurred in the Town of Pawling at approximately 8:15 am on 4/27/26.
Preliminary investigation has revealed that a 2006 Yamaha motorcycle operated by Kayden Kabashi (age 19 of Beekman, NY) was traveling eastbound on State Route 55 when it struck a 2003 Honda SUV at the intersection with State Route 292. Mr. Kabashi was transported to Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital, where he later passed away on 5/1/26. The occupants of the Honda were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
The investigation is continuing by members of the Sheriff’s Office’s Detective Bureau and Crash Investigation Unit, and more information may be released at another time as it becomes available. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Towns of Pawling and Patterson Fire Departments.
