Poughkeepsie man charged with assaulting Deputy after crash

The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of Jordon A. Robin, age 27 of Poughkeepsie, in connection with an auto accident investigation and subsequent assault in the Town of LaGrange.

At approximately 12 am on 7/29/24 Deputies responded to Titusville Rd near Red Oaks Mill Rd in LaGrange for a report of a crash. Upon arrival Mr. Robin was identified as the operator and a young child was identified as the passenger. During the investigation Mr. Robin allegedly became combative and attempted to interfere with EMS efforts to assist the child, which ultimately resulted in a Deputy being bitten and assaulted. Deputies were finally able to take Mr. Robin into custody, after which he continued behaving aggressively by allegedly damaging a patrol car during transport. At this time Mr. Robin has been charged with the following:

  1. Aggravated driving while intoxicated (Leandra’s Law, felony).
  2. Assault 2nd degree (on police officer) – felony
  3. Criminal mischief 3rd degree (patrol car) – felony
  4. Resisting arrest – misd.
  5. Obstructing governmental administration – misd.
  6. Aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle – misd.  

After being processed Mr. Robin was released on appearance tickets returnable to the Town of LaGrange Court on 8/6/24. As with any criminal case the charges described above are merely accusations and Mr. Robin is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
