Sheriff Imperati announces that the Sheriff’s Office is in the process of implementing a new automated phone directory system, set to go live beginning January 5, 2026.
This new system is designed to improve public access, streamline call routing, and ensure that requests for assistance are handled in the most efficient manner possible. The updated system allows callers to reach specific areas within the Sheriff’s Office through a centralized main number and clearly defined menu options. This enhancement is intended to reduce delays, improve customer service, and provide both the public and law enforcement partners with direct access to the appropriate resources.
The main phone number for the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office will remain 845-486-3800. Callers will now be guided through an automated phone tree with options to connect directly to the following bureaus and units:
Sheriff Imperati stated that “this new system improves accessibility and ensures that calls are handled by the appropriate personnel as efficiently as possible. It allows us to better serve the residents of Dutchess County while also supporting our law enforcement partners.”
Members of the public are encouraged to use the automated directory for non-emergency matters, however emergencies should continue to be reported immediately to 911.
