The Dutchess County District Attorney’s Office Drug Task Force reports the arrest of Christopher Brown, age 45, related to alleged narcotic sales on the South Side of the City of Poughkeepsie.
Drug Task Force Agents identified the defendant selling narcotics at various locations throughout the City of Poughkeepsie. Agents made multiple purchases of narcotics from the defendant over the course of several months.
On 10/29/2026 members of the Dutchess County Drug Task Force took the defendant into custody on Barclay Street as he exited an apartment building in the area. At the time of his arrest the defendant has cocaine packaged for sale.
(1) Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree, a class B Felony.
(2) Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 4th Degree, a class C Felony.
The defendant was later arraigned in the City of Poughkeepsie Court and remanded without bail to the custody of the Dutchess County Justice and Transition center, formerly known as the Dutchess County Jail, as required by NYS law. Numerous other charges are pending against the defendant related to the sale of narcotics.
District Attorney Anthony Parisi said, “The illegal distribution of narcotics continues to pose a serious threat to the safety and well-being of our communities. This arrest reflects the persistent, intelligence-driven work of our Drug Task Force to identify and investigate those allegedly engaged in distributing dangerous drugs in our neighborhoods. We remain committed to working with our law enforcement partners to disrupt illegal drug trafficking, hold offenders accountable, and protect the residents of Dutchess County.”
As with any criminal case, the charges described above are merely accusations, and those named are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
