Trick or Treat the Drug Task Force Can't Be Beat - Drug Dealer Apprehended

The Dutchess County District Attorney’s Office Drug Task Force reports an investigation that was initiated in in late July related to the sale of cocaine in the Town and City of Poughkeepsie.   

Drug Task Force Agents identified Shyquan J. Collins, age 32, who is a Poughkeepsie resident, as a narcotic and dangerous drug dealer operating in various locations within the Town and City of Poughkeepsie.  Drug Task Force Agents conducted numerous narcotic transactions with Mr. Collins in both jurisdictions.   

On 10/31/2024 shortly after 09:00 am Drug Task Force Agents located Mr. Collins and charged him with the following offenses:

City of Poughkeepsie 
(1)    Counts of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree, a Class B Felony.

Town of Poughkeepsie
(1)    Count of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree, a Class B Felony.

Mr. Collins is being held at the Dutchess County Justice and Transitions Center pending his arraignment on both charges in both jurisdictions.   

The Drug Task Force continues to warn members of the community that fentanyl is often mixed with cocaine which has led to hundreds of overdose deaths in Dutchess County over the past several years.
