The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrests of Brian Freeman (age 35 of Poughkeepsie) and DeQuan Hanley (age 33 of Poughkeepsie) in connection with separate incidents at the Dutchess County Justice and Transition Center. Both were incarcerated at the time of the incidents and arrests, and remain there at the time of this writing.
Both defendants are accused of violating orders of protection by calling protected parties, and have been charged with Aggravated Family Offense (felony) and Criminal Contempt 2nd degree (Misd). Mr. Hanley was arrested on 1/2/25 and is due to appear before the City of Poughkeepsie Court on 1/15/25, and Mr. Freeman was arrested on 1/3/25 and is due in court on 1/17/25.
As with any criminal case the charges described above are merely accusations and both defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
