Wappinger man charged with stalking a young child

The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of Kurt R. Geisler, age 36 of Wappinger, in connection with a recent investigation.

At approximately 7 pm on 4/30/25 Deputies investigated a suspicious circumstances complaint in which it was reported that an adult male had approached a young child in the Town of Pleasant Valley. Further investigation resulted in the identification of Mr. Geisler in connection with the incident, and he was taken into custody later that evening. At this time Mr. Geisler is accused of following the elementary school-aged child and attempting to give them inappropriate gifts & notes. In order to protect the victim’s privacy, no further information about them or the case will be released. 

Mr. Geisler has been charged with Stalking in the 2nd degree (Felony) and Endangering the Welfare of a Child (Misd). After being processed he was arraigned before the Town of Pleasant Valley Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Justice and Transition Center in lieu of $1,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond.

As with any criminal case the charges described above are merely accusations and Mr. Geisler is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
